I was born and raised in a small farm town called Petrolia, about two hours from Kitchener-Waterloo. In 2020, after being accepted into the University of Waterloo’s Architectural Engineering Program, I moved to Waterloo with my sights set on becoming a structural engineer.

 

During my co-op program, I found myself working as a renovation assistant in Waterloo, where much of the work involved painting. Over time, I discovered that painting is an art in itself. I found satisfaction in the transformation of a space, seeing how paint could completely change the look and feel of a home.

 

For my next co-op, I moved up north to Muskoka for the summer, painting high-end cottages and homes. It was during this time that I realized how much I enjoyed the work and decided to turn it into a business of my own. I wanted to pay my way through school by taking on projects during breaks and reading weeks,.

 

And so, Capstone Painting was born. What started as a way to cover tuition, rent, and other essentials quickly became something much bigger. As I worked on more projects, I noticed a significant problem in the painting industry: a lack of integrity and professionalism. I saw an opportunity to fill that gap by offering exceptional communication, genuine care for my customers, and an honest approach to the trade.

 

Capstone Painting grew quickly, and today, we are proud to be one of the fastest-growing painting companies in the Waterloo Region.
